A prayer passing the exam

My wife and I went to “Yushima Tenmangu” to say a prayer for my elder daughter to pass her college entrance examination. The English website is the following (https://www.yushimatenjin.or.jp/pc/eng-page/english.htm).

“Yushima Tenmangu” is generally called “Yushima Tenjin(湯島天神)”, which is famous as the Shinto deity of scholarship.

We paid 10,000 yen for a prayer. We wrote her preferred colleges and their exam date on the Ema (a wooden plaque). Reading that information, a Shinto priest prayed on behalf of us.

We received some items for passing exams, like pencils, a headband, a calendar for 2022 and Kifuda, which is a charm made of wood.
